So...it's been a while.

So it seems like I'm going to be one of those bloggers that just "drops" in and blogs for a minute before I'm off to the next thing I have going on...First of all, I would just like to say how fast this summer has gone by...I know it's still "technically" summer but gosh, IT'S THE MIDDLE OF AUGUST! I seriosuly remember writing 5-24-2011 on my work papers like, yesterday.
In other exciting news, remember the curtains I blogged about last? I've decided not to buy them...I'm actually going to try to find something from J.C. Penny...some plan, neutral colors.

Just to get you up to speed, I had a bridal shower for the lovely Ms. Brittany Andrews, making some fabulous goodies, Jennifer graduated from Bama, and we had a wonderful vacation at the beach...
Brittany with her maid of honor, Kayla and me!

I have this wonderful recipe I want to share with you but I'm waiting for it to get to me from one of the shower hostess. It's amazing!

Jennifer graduated form Nursing school! It was a sweet ceremony and I bet there wasn't a dry eye in the coliseum after Dr. Whit talked about the six students that were not there to enjoy the day with the rest of their fellow students.

After Jenn's graduation, we high-tailed it to the beach for the week. It was some much needed r&r and much needed for my whole family. I love vacationing with my family...I know we're going to have a lot more of those vacations and that makes me smile.

So I guess that brings me to today.
Wednesday night starts Lift-Off with the youth and I'm so excited to get back into that. It keeps me young. ha.

And finally....drum roll please!
I'm super excited to celebrate two friends who are getting married! I'm throwing my first engagement party and I'm super pumped! I've got a great menu and some great things cooked up for this shower. I can't wait to tell you about them...on Sunday. :)

Hope this week goes by super fast...I'm already ready for the weekend!

I've got some "homey" things to show you later...it's bedtime for me.

Need opinion...Now.

So I know I said I would be a better blogger...but you know how things happen. Between this past weekend, work this week, and packing for the beach next week (THANK GOODNESS!)...things have been a little hectic. So I've been doing some research because I want to kind of "finish" the kitchen before football season. We just had the hutch put in and it looks amazing! I'm so happy...now I need just a few little details to finish off the kitchen for a while...ha. So I've been looking at curtains from all over...I really want to go to Fayetteville and check out Sir's Fabric but I think I need curtains that are ready to be hung up. Looking at my schedule from now until...err...end of football season, "free time" isn't coming free. So I want your opinion. How do we feel about these for the kitchen. I love this print and I really feel like it would work in the kitchen. Not too crazy about the price but convience isn't cheap either.

I hope to be adding some recipes of some things I've made these past few weeks and from the shower last weekend. So don't hold your breath...but hopefully soon!

Opinion's welcome!

Is lazy like Sunday morning...or easy?

Well, I would like to say I haven't posted because I've been on vacation...but that wouldn't be true. So here's all my excuses...(1) Our computer is d-e-a-d and I'm currently on my old (slower) one. (2) My schedule has been crazy busy. (3) My lovely sister in law got MARRIED this weekend!
So here's how the past couple of weeks have been.

I finished The Help.
We went to Tuscaloosa to celebrate Ken's retirement.

Had a wonderful dinner with friends.

Had a wonderful bridal lunch for Jennifer at Elizabeth's.

Had a Bachelortte party for Jennifer.
*Sorry- no pictures! :)*

Jennifer and Bryn got married!

I do promise to be better this week. Not nearly as much going on this weekend...Just a shower for my sweet friend, Brittany Andrews! I can't wait! It's going to be great!

Hope y'all have a good week.

My to-do list.

So if you remember a while back, I talked about my to-do lists. About how I make them all the time, if I'm bored, trying to stay awake...making a grocery list, making a list of things I want, I have a list for things I want to do for the house, etc...etc...etccc.

So here's my project list. It's managed to grow ever since I found "Pinterest". Seriously, I've found a million things I want to do off that website...if you haven't been on there, you must! So I just want to show you a few of my new projects added to the "Project list".

I love wreaths! And maybe if I start on this now, I might have it done before Christmas!

I love this...cheap, classic looking! I'm sick of the ones I have in our bathroom right now...they have rust in them! And it's driving me nuts!!

I want to go fine some cheap glass jars at GoodWill and do this with them, would do well making flower arrangements for people.

Did i mention I LOVE wreaths?!

What's on your project to-do list!?

I love clothes...

I've been working on a shower I'm helping plan and I almost forgot to post! Ah! Just a little exciting news for today first...I finally tossed my Blackberry...it was sad...I've been a hard-core Blackberry user for almost 4 years now! But today...I joined the iPhone world. We'll see how this goes...I don't know if I need any more distractions in my life right now...I have enough going on.

So I just wanted to share with you this cute little website...

SouthernFrock. Hello cuteness!

My favorite...

Hope every has had a great day!

Tuesday, July 5, 2011

Well, that was fun.

Happy Tuesday everyone!
I hope everyone had a fabulous 4th of July weekend. Kyle and I ran from one home to another, to another...tooo another. Friday I had a wonderful dinner with some lovely ladies that I've missed so much. Danielle was in town for the 4th and Holly and I didn't want to miss a dinner date with her. Oh how I've missed her. Yet we didn't take any pictures at all.

Saturday we headed up to New Hope and spent the afternoon with Thomas and Katie and then went to Shirley's house for her annual fireworks/cookout. Then if that wasn't enough, we headed back to Thomas's parents house and helped finish roasting the pig...yes, roast a pig. I was proud, I stayed up longer than most of the guys. Kyle and I headed home around 2am. Yes, 2am. Do you know the last time I saw 2 am...long time ago.

Sunday we went back to Thomas's and ate the pig...Amazingness. It was so good...you have no idea.
And again, I have no documention of all this. Go figure- that's what happens when you get a new camera...you never use it.
However, we also stopped at Sherman Williams...just popping in, you know, seeing what's going on...And for the record- This was Kyle's idea.
We walked out with 100$ worth of paint and supplies.
Again- This was Kyle's idea.

So Sunday night we painted. Do you know how many times in my life I've painted?! Like, mayyybeee five times...and for like, five minutes at a time. I have an attention span of a goldfish.
This is a before of the bathroom- please excuse the mess. I wasn't about to clean it just to mess it up.
So I would roll about four streaks...and Kyle would have a whole wall done. In actuality, we had the bathroom "painted" pretty quick. What took forever was taping and painting the trim.
So that pretty much sums up Sunday- We. were. Exhausted.

Monday we spent the day at Margaret's enjoying food and family and the pool! I was excited to get a little sun, working at the bank leaves little room for a tan.
Monday night we were so tried, we just decided to drive up to Epworth and watched the Bridgestreet show from there. Much easier than fighting the crowd...and I thought it was pretty cool- you could see fireworks all over the city (Yes, city- what "no fireworks in the city limit" rule!?)
We still have one more coat left on the bathroom, we just decided to leave it alone...we were way to tired to get it the attention it deserved.
The aftermath...
And to make matters worse...we had yet to put the cleaned comforter on the bed...so excuse that mess too.

So today...Tuesday. Susan and Phillip (Mother in law and Father in law) came and helped us finish the bathroom. I'm so thankful they did. Kyle and I could not have done it without them.
So...excited to see the finished product?!
Ta-da!

Now I still have a few things to do...(1)I want to put molding around the mirrors and "frame" them. (2) I want a flower arrangement to go on the back on the tub.
(3)I want an iron piece of some kind to put on the wall
(4) Frame the picture Danielle brought me back from Paris
(5) Frame this really cute saying I cut out of a magazine- It's cute. Trust me.

That should wrap up the bathroom. Pretty cool. I was excited the color turned out so well...cause there wasn't any 'taking it back'...I keep looking in the bathroom thinking that's it's not suppose to look like that! Ha!
Just a little FYI the color is Olive Grove.

Hope everyone has a great week! I've got some great blog topics lined up this week that I'm very excited to share with y'all!
