Well, that was fun.

Happy Tuesday everyone!
I hope everyone had a fabulous 4th of July weekend. Kyle and I ran from one home to another, to another...tooo another. Friday I had a wonderful dinner with some lovely ladies that I've missed so much. Danielle was in town for the 4th and Holly and I didn't want to miss a dinner date with her. Oh how I've missed her. Yet we didn't take any pictures at all.

Saturday we headed up to New Hope and spent the afternoon with Thomas and Katie and then went to Shirley's house for her annual fireworks/cookout. Then if that wasn't enough, we headed back to Thomas's parents house and helped finish roasting the pig...yes, roast a pig. I was proud, I stayed up longer than most of the guys. Kyle and I headed home around 2am. Yes, 2am. Do you know the last time I saw 2 am...long time ago.

Sunday we went back to Thomas's and ate the pig...Amazingness. It was so good...you have no idea.
And again, I have no documention of all this. Go figure- that's what happens when you get a new camera...you never use it.
However, we also stopped at Sherman Williams...just popping in, you know, seeing what's going on...And for the record- This was Kyle's idea.
We walked out with 100$ worth of paint and supplies.
Again- This was Kyle's idea.

So Sunday night we painted. Do you know how many times in my life I've painted?! Like, mayyybeee five times...and for like, five minutes at a time. I have an attention span of a goldfish.
This is a before of the bathroom- please excuse the mess. I wasn't about to clean it just to mess it up.
So I would roll about four streaks...and Kyle would have a whole wall done. In actuality, we had the bathroom "painted" pretty quick. What took forever was taping and painting the trim.
So that pretty much sums up Sunday- We. were. Exhausted.

Monday we spent the day at Margaret's enjoying food and family and the pool! I was excited to get a little sun, working at the bank leaves little room for a tan.
Monday night we were so tried, we just decided to drive up to Epworth and watched the Bridgestreet show from there. Much easier than fighting the crowd...and I thought it was pretty cool- you could see fireworks all over the city (Yes, city- what "no fireworks in the city limit" rule!?)
We still have one more coat left on the bathroom, we just decided to leave it alone...we were way to tired to get it the attention it deserved.
The aftermath...
And to make matters worse...we had yet to put the cleaned comforter on the bed...so excuse that mess too.

So today...Tuesday. Susan and Phillip (Mother in law and Father in law) came and helped us finish the bathroom. I'm so thankful they did. Kyle and I could not have done it without them.
So...excited to see the finished product?!
Ta-da!

Now I still have a few things to do...(1)I want to put molding around the mirrors and "frame" them. (2) I want a flower arrangement to go on the back on the tub.
(3)I want an iron piece of some kind to put on the wall
(4) Frame the picture Danielle brought me back from Paris
(5) Frame this really cute saying I cut out of a magazine- It's cute. Trust me.

That should wrap up the bathroom. Pretty cool. I was excited the color turned out so well...cause there wasn't any 'taking it back'...I keep looking in the bathroom thinking that's it's not suppose to look like that! Ha!
Just a little FYI the color is Olive Grove.

Hope everyone has a great week! I've got some great blog topics lined up this week that I'm very excited to share with y'all!

Helloooo Portion Control!

I picked up these cute little containers at Publix the other day and I think they are the best thing since sliced bread! I take my lunch everyday to work. Every. Day. So I use a lot of containers but these are just a little different. With the divided sections, it helps you with portion control AND saves me from bringing twelve different containers in my lunch box.
I've seem more expensive ones in magizines...but let's be honest...I use the containers a lot and after a while, they get gross...so I feel a lot better throwing away a 4$ container vs a 20$ container.

Hello! How cute?!

Here's to making it a good week- I've got some big weekend plans and I can't wait!

Just a little find...

So I just wanted to share with you a website I found the other day. It's kind of like a mix between Lilly Pulitizer and ...well, a lot like Lilly Pulitzer. The designer is Elizabeth McKay and the website can be found by going HERE! It's super cute...and kind of pricey...but I seem to have expensive taste. Oh well....here's hoping!

For some reason, this one is my favorite.

And on a happy note, two of my sweet, sweet friends got engaged tonight! I'm so excited for them!

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

What happens on my off day...

So when I have to work on Saturday, I get a day off during the week. I usually save this day to do my errand-running. I don't like to go out during my lunch break because it's too stressful trying to get what I want done in the short amount of time that I have. So if I told you what all I had planned to do today, first of all, you wouldn't have believed me and second, if I told you I got a majority of it done...you STILL wouldn't believe me.
So this is my crazy office...I'm STILL GOING THROUGH THE MAGAZINES!!
The madness will never end. I received two more today.
make. it. stop.

This afternoon I also ventured out to the Benjamin Moore Paint Store to finally pick out a color for our bathroom.
Of course I bought a little jar of tester paint...and of course I tested it all over the bathroom

...and of course I didn't tell Kyle first.
That's how we roll.

It's called "Hillside" and it's photographing a 'limey' green...it's not that lime. This is also just one coat.
So whenever we have some free time (yeah, right...what the heck is that?!), we'll paint the master bathroom.

In other news, while I was in Madison dropping things off at the cleaners, tailor, and bridesmaids dress shop, I ran in to Design World. Now I haven't been there in forever. Mostly because I always remember them being a wicker furniture store...and since I'm not in the mood for wicker furniture, I stay out.
But back in November...oh say, the night before the wedding, We were out hitting every craft store in town looking for green and purple ribbon for the wedding programs, mom went into this store. Claiming that it wasn't just a wicker store anymore, I finally had time to check it out.
Eighty dollars later...I was pretty sure they weren't a wicker store anymore.
But they had these wreaths...now I've seen them before and thought they were just the cutest thing since sliced bread. I know you've heard of them...the "mesh ribbon wreaths".
Allow me to show you:
How cute are these?! Well it just so happens the had a HUGE selection of this mesh ribbon (and other 'normal' ribbon too!) and well...I bought some.
So I'll see how this wreath making hobby turns out.
I'll report back with details.

It's Thursday folks and you know what that means?! One last working day until the weekend...unless you are me and you have to work Saturday...uggghh.

Hope everyone has a great night.

Some new goodies!

So I rarely buy and tell...birthday presents that is but I was super excited about this website I stumbled about via blogging world and I felt that all of you should know about it. It's called Marley Lilly. They have a bunch of cute preppy gifts. I just happen to be on it looking for some birthday ideas when I found the prefect gifts!
Monogrammed beach hats with sashes!

Of course I had to model one...I plan on ordering one of me soonish. Ha!

What's a girl without a floppy beach hat?

Just wanted to share...I plan of making a list of things I want from there. They had some really cute stuff.
*Hint Hint, Mom and Kyle!

I'm still plungging through magizines. I didn't realize how much I had but everywhere I turn, there's one hiding out on a table, in a chair, a basket...ugh.

Don't worry Sarah and Alicia! I have a good little pile for y'all!

Hoping the weather doesn't mess us up too much tonight or tomorrow.

Happy Father's Day

Just wanted to take a minute and say "Happy Father's Day" to all the wonderful fathers out there.
Mine just happens to be the best. No big deal.

I hope everyone had a great weekend. I can't believe it went by as fast as it did.
I'm already looking forward to the next one even if I do work.

Summer Reads...

So I spent most of my Saturday reading...everything actually. I have a stack of magizines a mile high that i've been meaning to go through and tear out things I want to keep...well, today I felt like laying around doing whatever I want and well, reading through magizines seemed like a good idea. So this brings me to my next point. I have several Southern Living, Southern Lady, Food Network, Fitness, Paula Dean, and Pottery Barn magizines that I've been holding onto for a while. I would LOVE to give them away to someone who would love to read them and either recycle them or pass them on...If you want them, let me know! I'll find a way to get them to you! I hate to throw them in the recycling bin without publicly asking. So...I feel better now.

I also have finished a great easy summer read the other day that I would like to share with you!

It was very cute and easy to read.

I can't wait to start my next one!
I'll have to hurry and finish it because the movie is coming out soon!

I'll let you know how it goes...

Hope everyone has a great weekend.
