Oh how I love summer!

So if you remember we planted a garden in our backyard. Not too much has come "up" that was really edible...until the tomatos started to turn red. Now...what do you do when you only have two tomatoes? Make a pasta sauce for two...or one really. Kyle was gone that night so I had full range of the kitchen. So I thought I would pull out my Rachel Ray skills and "whip" up a sauce.
Here's what I used:
Garlic, Onions, Two tomatos, and a small can of tomato sauce, salt, peper, and some italian seasoning.

Done.
Pretty tomatoes from our garden!

Simmer all the ingredients in a pan for like, 20 mins...or until the house smells so good you can't stand it!

I tossed in my noodles and threw in some cheese to melt.

Hello 20-ish minute dinner.
Perfection.

So thankful for the storms tonight and the rain it brought. Hope it doesn't do any damage.
Y'all have a great hump day!
Ruby will be joining me tomorrow and spending the weekend with us! I'm super excited!

A new find...

So I would like to share with you something I've been keeping a secret for a while..."Dun, dun...dunnnnn". It's this website (ha, bet you thought I was going to say something else!). It's called Pinterest. That would be Pinterest. It's invitation only to join but you can look without joining. It's kind of like picture twitter. Haven't you ever been looking for something to copy and all you want is a picture? I do sometimes and this is the best of both worlds. You "pin" things to your boards. They have anything and everything you could think of. I have "pinned" several things/ideas/outfit ideas/house ideas that I love! It's great sometimes to not have to sort through words with blogs...you just get the picture and you can figure it out on your own.

Example:

I saw this picture online "Pinned it" and I can totally copy it without needing a tutorial! And you can sort your pins into different boards.
Try it. You'll love it. I promise.

If you would like an invite, comment below with you email and I'll send you and invite! Try it, pull up the site, you'll love it!!

Hope everyone's having a great week! I'm just living for the weekend!

I haven't been around in forever, you might mistake me for a visitor!

Helllllooooo blogging world. It's been a while...seven days without blogging makes one WEAK! ha...haaa... (lame, i know...hush). Anyways. I think I'm finally back on somewhat of a normal week. Last week I was trying to upload pictures to Snapfish and Mpix in order to save like, 5 dollars on shipping. That took three days of going back and forth with mom trying to make sure we each had all our pictures uploaded and then trying to make an order in time. Of course we'd only had those "FREE SHIPPING" emails for a week or so. We just love the adrenaline rush of waiting till the last minute to order. And I mean last minute on the Snapfish...I had until 11pm...order placed at 10:52...Lovely.

But enough with the boring stuff...I would like to show you something I did last weekend and just never got a chance to tell y'all! I was super stoked with a sweet lady at work asked me to help with the bridesmaid's lunch for her daughter...in the goody bag department!
I made the same little paper boxes that I had at my BM luncheon. We filled them with candy and they were just too cute. So here's what the "woman cave" looked like mid-moring. I was excited. I hadn't used any of my scrapbook stuff since I moved in the house. Needless to say...there were a lot of phone calls to mom, "Do you have two of these scissors? What about Glue Dots? Where's my paper cutter? Any Velum!?". It's weird when you share so much with your mother and then BAM! You're forced to get your own stuff.

All that messed turned into this:

I was pretty pumped about how they turned out. Made me wish I had more time to chill out in my woman cave and do whatever I want.

Things are pretty busy around here. We did however make it to Rainsville and pick out a china cabinet and a bookcase on Saturday! I'm so pumped and I can't wait 4-6 weeks until they are delivered.
We went to Thomas and Sons on the way to my Grandmother's house for Thanksgiving, just stopping in a seeing if we could find a china cabinet we liked...We did but didn't have time to get it that  day or when it came in so we decided to wait. We went to get it this weekend and guess what...it was DISCONTINUED! So my luck.
But it worked out.
The one we found I like way more.
What's that you say...You wish i would post a picture...

I'm pretty excited because it combines the best of both worlds...Glass for viewing my china and storage. And it'll look great on that huge wall in the kitchen.
4-6 weeks! ah!

Hope everyone has a good week!
I promise to post more this week than last...no more picture uploading!

I'm still here! I promise!

So just a quick update...I've been uploading over 3000+ wedding pictures to MPix and over 400 to snapfish for the past few days. I'm trying to get caught up on all my pictures...I swear I'll blog again soon! Forgive me for the little break...but I've got some good posts coming! I can't wait to blog about them! :)

Give me another day or two and I'll be all caught up! Besides, My free shipping code for Mpix ends tomorrow! eek!

Hope everyone is having a good week!

Summer beauty products!

Did my car seriously register 89 this morning when I got in my car to go to work?
Seems we have blown straight into an Alabama summer and since we have no choice on the weather, I wanted to share with you some of my summer beauty staples!
First I would like to say, I've been reading beauty magizines since the tender age of 8 when my mother bought me an Allure. It was love at first sight. So ever since then I've been on a mission to find the best beauty staples on the market. Let me just say as a small disclaimer- These products work for me...so what works well for me may not work for you! God made us all different and that's a beautiful thing!

Let's face it, in the summer we sweat and in Alabama, we women, call it glistening. Keeping makeup on in the summer is hard enough and all the more reason to have a great complextion. I love Cetaphil as a basic facial cleasner. It's gentle but yet works great.

About twice to three times a week I use a cleanser with a little grit to it...Slosh off all those dead skin cells. If you've never had a "slosh night"...you are SO due for one. The next morning your make up goes on 10x better. Money back...quarenteed.

Next you have the mositurizer...most important ingredient...sunscreen. Which is why i turn to Olay Complete. It's a light formula and has SPF 20. I will never ever leave the house without sunscreen now.

Of course everyone wants a tan in the summer, I however have such fair skin that the older I get, the harder it is to tan...So I've decided to embrass it and self-tan! I just like to think one day, when i'm like...50...I'll have great skin because I haven't spent it under the sun when I was younger. *That's what I tell me self now...*
My new favorite self-tanner product is aresol sprays. The. Best. Ever.

Now... I have been spray/self tanning since I was in like, 4th grade. I went through the orange years, the streaky years...the orange AND streaky years...I've tired them all. Loreal and Neutrogena are my favorite brands. Other than the face tanner, I will never go back to a rub on tan again. I love this stuff that much.

I should also share that I'm a bare minerals babe...I didn't think (at first) it was going to provide me with the coverage I wanted...wrong. I love the natural look it gives and doesn't weight my face down...with that said...I have also found it to be pretty light in the summer and not "fall off" like most of the concealers I use to wear. And a plus that it's acutally good for your skin.

As for hair products go...well, that might need to be another blog post in general. Ha!

What are some of your favorite products?

It's Thursday! One more work day till the weekend! I can't wait! I have some birthday goodies I'm just waiting to get my hands on! Thanks, Mom!

Things I've learned and things that have happened in the past year...

So today I turned twenty-three...23...the big TWO THREE! I'm just going to throw this out there...I LOVE BIRTHDAYS! I don't know what it is about birthdays...but i just love them. Maybe becuase it's a great excuse to have cake and get presents or maybe everyone comes together and is nice to you for a day and you can do just about anything you want...just something about brithdays...ha.

So this past year has been quiet the year for me...since graduating college my life has yet to slow down. A lot has happened and I think I've done more growing up than I have realized. You think you become independent in college and them BAM! You get tossed into the real world and your only choice is to tred water...yeah...real life is kind of like that. So on my run this moring, I got to thinking about things I've done in the past year and things I've learned and I wanted to share them with you...

1. It is still possible to have fun after college.
2. I married the love of my life and planned the wedding of my dreams!
3. Bought my own car with NO help from my parents and learned saving and compounded interest eventually do add up!
4. Just because your surrounds change, doesn't mean your friendships have to as well.
5. I have skin like my momma, and I will never tan again!
6.Life is too short to do something you hate...so I intended to fit in everything I love do to/be/feel/taste/touch and see.
7. You don't become June Cleaver over night...and neither did she.
8. I will learn to sew despite my failed attempts.
9. Kyle and I live independentlly from our parents...and it's actually the best feeling in the world.
10. I can't wait to see what 23 has in store for me.

A peak at some of my birthday presents!
Shirley Whorton, if you're reading this, I've got a wreath making book for my birthday! I'm well on my way to becoming more like you! :)
Hope everyone has a great Wednesday... I know I did!
